Meet Harry Parsons: Crown Court Paralegal Bringing Precision, Passion and Pizza to the Team
As we continue expanding our expert legal team at John Black Solicitors, we’re thrilled to welcome Harry Parsons, a Crown Court Paralegal based in Chester and Liverpool. With a sharp eye for detail, a passion for justice, and a love of teamwork (and pizza!), Harry brings fresh energy and forensic focus to our serious crime defence work.
From Law Firm Catering to Criminal Case Files
“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
Harry’s route into law is anything but conventional, and that’s part of what makes his approach so grounded and human. He first encountered the legal world while catering for a corporate law firm in London, where conversations with lawyers piqued his curiosity. That spark led him to volunteer at Cumbria Law Centre, where he discovered the more personal, life-changing side of law.
This hands-on introduction solidified his passion for working in the criminal justice system and set him on a path to where he is today.
Crown Court Work: Where the Details Matter Most
“I’m detail-oriented and love trawling through evidence to find something small or missed that could change a case.”
Harry thrives in the high-pressure, detail-driven world of Crown Court casework. He’s especially enthusiastic about evidence collation, working with counsel, and digging into the Digital Case System (DCS) to uncover overlooked or pivotal information.
He also values the collaborative nature of trial preparation, working closely with solicitors and barristers to create the strongest possible defence for clients.
Why Harry Chose John Black Solicitors
“From my first few weeks here, I could see why the firm is so well respected. It’s the right place for me to make a real difference.”
Harry was drawn to JBS for its boutique size, excellent reputation, and meaningful client relationships. He immediately felt aligned with the firm’s down-to-earth, hands-on approach to serious crime defence.
What Sets Harry Apart?
“Prioritise, Park, Pass, Purge. With those principles, lots of notes, and an eye on deadlines, I stay ahead of the pressure.”
Harry brings a razor-sharp focus to every file, and prides himself on his ability to hit the ground running on new cases. He’s methodical, calm, and organised under pressure, essential qualities when juggling tight trial deadlines and managing complex case bundles.
His go-to strategy? The 4 Ps:
Looking Forward: Accreditation and Advancement
“I want to be the best paralegal I can be, and learn everything I can along the way.”
Harry has his sights set on police station accreditation as the next step in his career, with a longer-term ambition to qualify as a solicitor. Until then, he’s focused on making the biggest impact possible in his paralegal role and soaking up knowledge from the team.
Outside the Office: Poker and Pizza Ovens
“I recently bought a pizza oven and am mastering the craft. My family are loving it, mainly because they get to eat all my attempts!”
When he’s not unpicking a case file, Harry enjoys a good poker game, although he admits it’s not always the most relaxing hobby. His true passion? Neapolitan pizza.
Welcome to the Team, Harry
With a passion for justice, a practical mindset, and a love for both legal detail and doughy perfection, Harry Parsons is already making waves at John Black Solicitors. We’re excited to support his development and have him on board as part of our Crown Court team.
