John Black Solicitors represented Micheal Brodie former British, European and Commonwealth boxing champion. He was charged with a serious offence of conspiracy to supply class A drugs in a multihanded case with twelve other defendants. Mr Brodie always maintained his innocence in this matter and John Black Solicitors fully prepared his case for trial which took place at Preston Crown Court and lasted just over five weeks. He was aquitted of this offence on the 1st of November 2012 and spoke to the Manchester Evening News after his aquittal and stated "My legal team have been brilliant."

In 2011 six members of staff from John Black Solicitors participated in the race for life 5K run and raised just over £1000 for the charity.

In 2012 John Black Solicitors participated in Key 103’s campaign mission Christmas to help raise money and supply Christmas presents to as many Manchester children as possible and will also be participating in this again this year
